Because believe me, he will likely be happier without all the hate in his heart. Tell him that just because some people like the same or multiple sexes or a person doesn't feel like the gender they were born in doesn't mean that they are any less than straight, cis-gendered beings.
And, before you tell him you like him, try to rid his heart of any homophobia. And if they break up, wait until he is over her and happy before you tell him you like him. And as for you're friend, since he has a girlfriend, don't confess your feelings. And even if you do go to Hell for you're sexuality, who cares? Think what you want, but if given the choice, I would much rather live my life as my pansexual self, be truly happy the whole time, and go to Hell, than live out a fake version of me being straight, feel like bull🕊 the whole time, and go to Heaven.
